Dr Joe M Das underwent Neurosurgery superspecialty (MCh) training at Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India – the same place where he had completed his MBBS and MS (General Surgery) courses. Following this, he completed one year of Skull Base Neurosurgery fellowship at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India.

Dr Das started his practice as a consultant neurosurgeon in Nepal which he pursued for three years, following which he went to the United Kingdom (UK) for advanced training in Neurosurgery. He worked in premiere institutes like the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (a part of University College London Hospitals), Queen Square, London, and Birmingham Children’s Hospital. He completed a clinical fellowship in Pediatric Neurosurgery in the latter.

Dr Das has cleared several prestigious examinations like DNB (Neurosurgery), MRCS (England), and FRCSEd (Neurosurgery). The latter two qualifications were obtained from the Royal College of Surgeons in the UK.

Dr Das is currently doing a Royal College of Surgeons of England-approved fellowship in complex skull base neurosurgery in Charing Cross Hospital, UK.
